A darker black pencil was applied over the colored pencil and gouache to strengthen some lines, particularly in the crab; also used to outline the patch to delineate the new shape/form

Blue pencil is applied extensively across the left side in St. Anthony’s robe; in the upper center in the blow fish; and in the lower right in the figure’s clothing

Red pencil is applied in the upper area in the striated background (?); and in the lower right area in the crab

Green pencil is used in the upper center nude female figure body and hair; and in the amphibian-like creature in the LRC

Watercolor:

Touches of red gouache/watercolor are added to accentuate the crab’s claw

Composition

Drawing to sheet edges:

Media extends to all edges

Drawing into adjacent sheet:

The general composition extends above into 6F, though few black pencil lines appear to extend directly over join; the red, blue and green pencil passages extend primarily over the joined edges, though there are traces of red in some spots

The composition extends directly across into 7G.

The blue and black media and composition extend generally below into 8F and across into 7E

Compositional changes/additions:

Some lines appear to be strengthened with darker black pencil; additionally, there appears to be faint black diagonal pencil lines below the blow fish

Artist’s patches:

‘U’ shaped thin brown paper patch with over upper center nude female figure to cover the legs and transform the figure into a fish with the application of black pencil and white gouache
