A darker black pencil is used overall to strengthen lines, particularly in the figure’s eyes and in the artist’s signature and date LRC; the black pencil is drawn over all other media, including colored pencil, pastel and white gouache and red watercolor

| A dark blue pencil is used to create lines along the bottom and upper right edge, and is visible below and over pastel; and in the figure’s eyes
